UCMK - Libraray

we need better access to books, ideally a library needs to be put in place, or quicker access to the books from other campuses

Thank you for bring this to our attention it is important to Learning Resources to know where improvements to our services can be made to improve the student experience. UCMK is an exciting new development for the University of Bedfordshire. Phase 1 of the creation of the new Campus included:
electronic access to key texts
a responsive reservations service
study space
These are in place and working well but there are plans for more. Please take advantage of these services so we may monitor levels of demand.
If you have specific issues about the speed at which reservations are delivered to Campus please let staff know so we can make interventions where possible. High demand items can create waiting lists across the University but if staff know then we can attempt to do something about it
The creation of a library space has always been on the development plan and it is being discussed as part of the next phase of the UCMK development. It is hoped that  more of a library space will be available September 2014
You are welcome to use any Campus of the University of Bedfordshire. Bedford and Luton Campuses are 24/7 and it may be of use to you to travel to take advantge of this.
You are eligible to use the Sconul Access scheme which will let you use any University in the scheme as study space
Details are here: http://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/libraryservices/visiting/sconulaccess
The University of Bedfordshire has a special arrangement with the Open University which - on production of your ID card - will allow you study access to that space. I believe a no 11 bus will take you there. Please check with Customer Service staff to be sure.
In the mean time some silent study space has been created in MK005
