Butterfield: PAD, PCs & Referencing

PAD could be put at Butterfield campus.

More computers would be good as they are always in use or unavailable.

Make sure hard copy referencing guide (given to me in first year) matches the web guide

PAD: Students can travel into the other drop ins and workshops
http://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/help/pad/drop-in
offered at other Campuses. The calendar of events is here:
http://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/help/pad/events

If individual or small groups  cannot get to any of the events on offer you need to contact PAD and they will attempt to arrange something around your availability

PCs: I am sorry that you have been experiencing problems with access to the PCs  at Butterfield. As you know there is very limited space at Butterfield. Over the summer all the PCs in Learning Resources were replaced with Intel i5 PCs. The Learning Resources team also managed to squeeze in 4 more PCs taking the total to 16 at Butterfield. We are hoping to introduce a PC booking service to make it easier for customers to get a machine when they need it most. Please check the banners on LRWeb for news of this development in the next few months.

Referencing: The LRweb guide to referencing gives general examples in the University of Bedfordshire Harvard style for students.  The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences has their own guide to referencing (i.e. the paper version you were given) but some courses in the Faculty use other systems too.  It is your individual responsibility to check that they are using the correct referencing system for each unit (with your tutor) as there is no unified system of referencing across the university.
