I am delighted that you like the learning environment in the LRC.We really appreciate
you taking the time to let us know we're doing something right. We look
forward to serving you in the future
Last year the University
made a significant additional investment in Library materials which aimed to provide more print copies of core essential

As a post graduate student you are expected to buy a
few books for University yourself. Learning Resources does buy multiple copies
of core texts I would advise you to make use of the Reservation service to
ensure you get to borrow the core texts
In addition you might like to know that the
University is undertaking a medium term project called readinglists
(readinglists.beds.ac.uk)to change the focus and role of reading lists from
just a list of citations to a more relevant and accessible document. A
reading list should tell you what you should be reading and when during your
course and as far as possible making that material accessible to you. We
are working towards the latter either by obtaining in full text (the whole book
or a chapter or article) and making it available on BREO or ensuring we have
acceptable numbers of print copies in the library using appropriate loan
statuses to try and ensure everyone on the course has the opportunity to access
and use the book when they need to
