The furniture is modern and everything is usually clean.I
said 'usually ' because when I started the uni, in 2016, was more clean than now.I don't know why, but seems
that lately, the carpets are more dirty and some people don't clean after
themselves when they use a desk, resulting in it being messy and not pleasant
to work at.
Being more clean and people respecting each other, as well
as more quiet rooms.
More available books,
as for my course (Biomedical Science) I cannot find all the things that I want.
There are some areas which can be improved, as mentioned
above.
The University took a lot of care in choosing the furniture for the new library and getting our architects to design a space to offer a variety of study environments. I am glad the space supports your learning.
The library has a cleaning programme to maintain the study environment and it has a code of conduct to guide customers as to what is regarded as acceptable behaviours.
This is a joint effort to keep the library in excellent condition. Unfortunately there are a few customers who do not take these requirements seriously. There are sanctions in place where necessary
Be aware that some floors are specifically zoned for social study. Inevitably these floors are going to be noisy.
I would strongly advise you study on level 4, 5 or 6 which would suit you better. If you still find the open areas on these floors too noisy you can choose to study in the silent study rooms which are monitored.
Regarding resources there is an on-going activity with Learning Resources working closely with your department aiming to improve and expand the resource offer. This includes a review and revision of reading lists. If you have specific issues please contact your academic liaison librarian for help in identifying resources and maybe identifying new ones to add to stock.
