Tell Us Library Satisfaction Survey 2018: Putteridge Bury

Re-open the Putteridgebury library, or at least allow students to have books sent over
No library services at Putteridgebury
Do have access to resources via the digital collection

The decision to close the Education Collection at Putteridge Bury was made in close consultation with the department. Closing the resource room at Putteridge Bury from academic year 2017 – 2018 was as a result of the closure of the Butterfield site (Butterfield staff serviced Putteridge Bury) and the relocation of all library staff to the Luton campus. Library services at Putteridge Bury are available digitally and online.

The Luton Library is open 24/7 Monday to Sunday, provides access to a wide range of study spaces, state of the art PCs, a reservations collection point and help and advice on using the library from the Customer Service desk and academic skill support from the Study Hub Drop In desk.

Extensive work has been undertaken by the teaching team and the Academic Liaison Librarian to ensure at least 90% of all material listed on reading lists is available digitally.

Discussions were undertaken with the teaching team to explore them taking ownership of the reservations collection service before the closure, but at that time it was felt unnecessary.
