Bedford PCs

Need more computers on 2nd floor
Need more computers in general
Open two rooms on top floor when not in use

Thank you for your enquiry. As you know level 2 at Bedford Library has become a silent study area. PC use creates noise so it was a conscious decision to move some of the PCs from level 2 to different floors. There are 22 PCs on that floor but there another 150 PCs on the other library floors. In addition there are 42 PCs in the Learning Hub. You are welcome to use your own laptop or tablet in the Library there are specific plug in power points available on every floor. If you cannot find any please ask staff on the Customer Service Desk (ground floor) for help. You cannot plug your device into the the University network so please use WiFi if required

There are a good proportion of PCs to students at Bedford. We rarely have no PCs left for customers to use. Please check all the library floors for available machines. We are hoping to introduce a PC booking service to make it easier for customers to get a machine when they need it most. Please check the banners on LRWeb for news of this development in the next few months.

The two training rooms on level 3 of the library are not for open access use they do not have the same set up and the PCs on the library floors. They are booked by University timetabling and currently fall outside Learning Resources remit.
