 Many of our Subject Dictionaries are available to loan please check the library catalogue

Dictionaries are standard reference books. Print editions need to be available to consult in the LRC/library
A standard English dictionary is available as an online resource from the library catalogue. 
You could even Google Dictionary and get a choice of free dictionaries to use on-line

If you prefer a print dictionary it may be a good investment to buy your own copy
The Concise Oxford Dictionary is available for £25 from John Smiths in hardback
