Luton Library - vending

There is no provision of food overnight in the library. The library would really benefit from a microwave so we could warm up our own food or a vending machine.

We have reviewed your request for a microwave in the library and unfortunately at this time this is not going to be possible. The Library has a policy that does not allow food and hot drinks to be taken onto the upper floors.

We believe that while most students would abide by this there some students would think that the presence of a microwave may not align with this policy and would take advantage of it. As such at this time we will not be installing a microwave.

Please be assured that students feedback is taken seriously and we will review this decision again in due course.

We are investigating introducing vending machines into the library space to try to cater for students who are studying out of the hours, along with improvements to the cafe facility is open which will also enhance the food provision in the building.
