Luton Library Presentation Room

Library needs air-con in presentation rooms and the presentation room computers stopped working in January, but they still need to be fixed and now it's April.

Thank you for raising your concerns. You will agree that this weekend's temperatures were unseasonably high. None the less our building management system was experiencing a few problems with the chillers which resulted in some areas of the library becoming very uncomfortable.
Staff were keeping records of temperatures and students were advised to keep doors open and keep hydrated.  The problem was help desked and is being addressed.
I hope you found an alternative space to study
The University is having trouble sourcing a part for one of the consoles in the Presentation Rooms hence the delay in getting them fixed. The problem is being addressed but unfortunately there isn't a quick solution.

Library PC screen notifications

The Tell Us Survey for the use of the library appears every 30minutes on the library computer screens although this has already been completed. It is highly distracting and frustrating when working to deadlines and this appears constantly. I feel this could be better advertised as to not disrupt students during their work.

Thank you for raising your concerns I apologise for the irritation caused by our on-screen messaging. May I check with you did you click the box to say you'd "read" the message. Completing the survey (thank you) does not stop the messages from appearing as they are not on the same system. This is a new service and we're trying to get the levels of engagement correct.
Thank you for your patience

Luton Library study environment

The library is so hot in the warm weather and the study rooms are unbearable, showing 29 degrees. please can fans be provided?

I'm afraid fans would not help in a situation like this as they would only move hot air around.

I hope you found an alternative space to study

Luton Library Sunday library temperature

Library becomes very hot and stuffy in the warmer weather and no ability to turn down heating/open windows etc. Group rooms especially are unbearably hot, with 29 degrees showing on wall thermometer today. We have therefore been unable to study in the rooms we had planned and booked due to the heat.

Luton Library Study Environment

The floor and the table are too dirty and untidy, which affects the mood of learning. Can you clean the slience room and other public place? please! Thank you.

Thank you for raising your concerns. The library has a cleaning programme to maintain the study environment and it has a code of conduct to guide customers as to what is regarded as acceptable behaviours.

Click on the code of conduct link on this webpage

This joint respect should keep the library in excellent condition. Unfortunately there are a few customers who do not take these requirements seriously. There are sanctions in place where necessary
