Reservations
I am trying to order books for
my moduels, but keep getting the message displayed that i need to see a
libuarian as there is a problem. I wish to resolve this issue today if possible
please without having to come into the university. I have four books
ready to be picked up but i am finding I cannot order anymore although i am
allowed up to twenty.
Thank you for your enquiry. Do you mean reserve library items for your course?
You may reserve a maximum of 6 books at any time (you may borrow
up to 20 books at a time).
Looking at your library account you have 4 reservations ready
for pick up and another two reservations which are available off the shelves.
Once you have collected these 6 items you may reserve other titles.
I hope that makes things easier for you

Butterfield - Silent Study
Myself and two peers have left Butterfield library this afternoon due to excessive noise. We did
ask for quiet but our request was only granted briefly. Maybe a sikent area could be provided
for those wishing to read/concentrate?
Thank you for contacting me and letting me know the problems you are dealing with. Choosing you study environment is essential in trying to do your best work. i completely understand your choice to work in the Silent areas.
Regrettably there is no space at Butterfield that can be used to create an area of silent study. If there is any chance of you coming into Park Square to study levels 2 & 3 of the LRC has been designated silent study and I would encourage you to use this.

Assistive status
I have just received this letter regarding outstanding payment because of a book being overdue, I however have
unlimited access to any books and can keep them for as long as i want due to
Dyslexia.
I asked before I took any books out whether I had any
limitations on this, for example having to return then retake a book out and
was told there were none, therefore I will not be paying the fine.
I have received no notifications that the books are due
back not have a revived a message to say I have to renew it.
I would appreciate someone to shed some light upon this.
You state
I have unlimited access to any books and can keep them
for as long as i want due to Dyslexia.
As an student with assistive status our policy states:
Assistive Customers are entitled to unlimited renewals
(unless the item is requested by another customer). Fines will be waived but
other associated sanctions will apply.
You need to renew the items you have on loan so they
don't become overdue. If you forget to renew the items you have on loan and
they become overdue you do not have to pay fines. BUT if the items are more
than 5 weeks overdue they become Billed items and you will be sent a
replacement bill. This is an "other associated sanction". This
sanction should encourage you to return the overdue items. When you do this the
bill will disappear and you will not have any outstanding fines.

Sconul Access
I am a University of Bedfordshire PhD student living in Bristol,
UK. I conduct much of my writing-up at the University of Bristol. To continue I
must have a current SCONUL with Band A.
My SCONUL Band A card expired on 02.07.2015.
Is it possible to renew this for a futher one, two or three years
by distance (otherwise I will have to make a six hour round road trip by car -
and as a partner in the European Green Capital 2015 - Bristol UK - that will be
a disaster)?
May I reassure you that Sconul Access was primarily created for students
like yourself so a lot of the admin may easily be done remotely.
If you follow the advice on our web pages
http://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/libraryservices/visiting/sconulaccess
and check the advice on the Sconul website
then apply online
When you get your approval email you can print it out or show an
electronic version to staff at Bristol and go through their membership
requirements.
If you have any questions please get back to me
