Finding your way around the LRC

I am looking for books in the LRC for my upcoming assingments using the LRC Catalogue website. Howver, I am confused as the code number is given on the website but not what floor the book/s is located.
For example, 302 HOF (Cultures and organizations : software of the mind : intercultural cooperation and its importance for survival / Geert Hofstede, Gert Jan Hofstede and Michael Minkov)
Please could you advise me on how I can work out what floor a book is located on, as I cannot find this code on the second floor of the LRC

I am sorry you are having trouble finding your way around the LRC. There are guidance signs all over the LRC. If you don't find these helpful please ask the staff on the Customer Service desk to help you. They will be pleased to take you to the correct area.

Items with the Dewey number 302 are on level 3 of the Luton LRC.

Psychology book

Can I kindly ask if Dr Adonu's book is available in the library or available as a E book please. This book is extremely important to all students and as he is an esteemed member of staff, it would be wonderful for students to have access to this book.

Adonu, J. (2011). How to Excel and Have Fun at University: Powerful Tips for Breaking Through at University. Germany: Flowers Books.

Thank you for your suggestion. On checking the library catalogue I notice that we do not see to have a copy of Joseph's book in stock.

I would suggest that you use the Recommend a Resource facility offered by Learning Resources. This enable individual students and staff to recommend that specific titles are added to the University library stock please follow this link and complete the necessary fields before submitting your request:

I have copied your Academic Liaison Librarian into the email so he is aware of your request. If you do not know how to use the library catalogue or the DISCOVER search tool I would advise you to contact Alan for some guidance on how to do this as it essential for your academic research.

SPSS

I am trying to download SPSS to use for my dissertation. I am in my 3rd year studying Sports Therapy. I downloaded a copy from the library in 1st year, however that is now not working. I have been through the library website, logged in and got a license code however whenever I try to download it, it says the file is corrupt. Am I doing something wrong? I really need it ASAP, is there a CD copy in the library that I could use?

SPSS is available as version 19 now which is retrospectively compatible with older versions. If you follow the instructions on this web page:
You should be able to download the new version.

If you have any problems please pop into the LRC or ring (01582) 743488 and a member of staff will try to help you over the phone

I have tried to answer your question as thoroughly as possible. If you need me to expand further or if I have missed anything out please get back to me.

Putteridge Bury - Reservations

it is very difficult when on a course and working full time to get to the library, especially as we only have 2 more contact days several weeks apart.
Perhaps the course organisers & the librarians need to look at this together at some point?

Thank you for the suggestion. The Learning Resources Management are constantly looking at ways to make library use as smooth as possible.  A small campus like Putteridge Bury has quite restrictive opening times and I totally appreciate how difficult it is to fit your schedule around Putteridge Bury's opening hours.

Please remember you may choose to collect your Reservations from any Campus of the University.

Luton Park Square LRC and Bedford Campus library operate 24/7 and you may choose to collect your Reservations from either of those Campuses. I hope that this will offer a more flexible solution to this issue.
