I hope you are well.
I am emailing to ask if you could please open the teaching
room for students. I understand that it has been closed as a result of some
students misusing the premises, however it is not fair that other lose the
opportunity to use the room. The Teaching room has a projector and it is really
good for practicing presentation and public speaking. After all the Library is
there to help students advance on their studies and future job prospects and I
believe all available rooms/ materials should be utilised to achieve this goal.

Thank you for your enquiry. The teaching practice room on
level 3 of Bedford Campus library is closed for study purposes. The library cannot
offer group study facilities at this time. You may ask at the customer service
desk on the ground floor to collect up any materials you may need.
We initially tried to keep the Teaching Practice room open
reliant on students to only enter if the room was not in use ie one at a
time. Unfortunately, this proved impractical due to student
behaviour. There are not enough staff on site to ensure the room remains
a safe environment and in keeping with all group rooms in the libraries it will
remain closed for the time being.
However, I am able to offer a solution. Students are
able to book rooms in the Gateway and other areas on campus for this type of
activity. Please approach a member of academic staff who will book a room
for you via the timetabling team.
