I am a current student at another university but living
in Bedford - I was hoping to use the library just for the study space during my
holidays, but wanted to confirm a couple of things - firstly is there WiFi
access in the study space, and secondly are there sockets in order to charge my
laptop? If so, I was wondering how I could go about using the library?
Thank you for your enquiry. There is no walk in access
for members of the public. If you wish to become a member of the library or are
eligible for Sconul Access membership you may apply and when your application is
processed use the library after that.
First check with your University that you are eligible
for Sconul Access If you can join start the process as advised. Then follow the
instructions on our website.
https://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/libraryservices/membership/external-users/categories
Applications (on receipt) take 2 – 5 working days to
process. As this is after authorisation from Sconul Access you may not have a
membership card before Christmas.
If you are not eligible you may apply for membership and
pay the appropriate fee.
Eduroam is available. If your institution does
not support Eduroam you may request a guest wifi account. There are power
points in designated spaces in the library.
