Luton Library study environment

The spaces should be divided into social work & study, silent ie to avoid general social chatting which is disturbing, in spaces of study ie monitor level of noise

Many thanks for your Tell Us comment about the new library. Noise levels are very subjective and to avoid individual “interpretations” leading to conflict the general library spaces have furniture configurations which indicate style of study.

Levels 4, 5 and 6 have Silent Study rooms which are monitored – electronically and by staff patrols. If the study environment isn’t respected there sanctions are in place

Levels 1,2 & 3 are generally regarded as more group & social style study environments with furniture configurations to facilitate that

Students are getting used to this wonderful space and learning styles will mean that students will start to gravitate towards the space that suits their learning style the best.

May I advise that you go up the building – maybe into the Silent study areas? This may meet your requirements better than the lower floors.
