Digital Library Passwords

I have tried to open a discovery account numerous times now. At first it wouldn't accept my choice of password (even though they were progressively more complex). Now it says that my username choice is already in use!

I would be grateful for any help!!

I am sorry that you are having problems setting up your DISCOVER account. It would seem – ironically – that EBSCO have “strengthened” the procedure for creating accounts and passwords, to make it more secure, to the point where it’s very difficult to actually come up with a valid password. They have had plenty of feedback to the effect that it’s overkill for this kind of account, and it’s turning users off, but, they maintain it’s a good thing. Since it’s an EBSCO account, and Learning Resources don’t maintain it in any way, there’s not really anything we can do. The database covers all EBSCO account users all over the world, not just University of Bedfordshire students, so it is quite likely a username will be already taken.

Learning Resources is putting together some advice to help devise another username and try again. It will be posted on our

You could try again yourself until that blog post has been made.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful at the moment.
