More could be done on the reading environment. The ambiance is not particularly motivating

May I point out that Luton LRC has a range of study environments to suit your study style or need. We offer:
Social Study Space with: 7 booths offering a PC, tabled seating and a whiteboard for groups of up to 7 people (offered on a first come first served basis); sofa area for informal meetings; large laptop area divided by a variety of seating

PC study space on all floors
Study carrels for individual study
and
 two silent floors which provide a very conducive study environment for reflective reading
