Visitor membership

 You said

I'm a postgraduate student but studying at Anglia Ruskin University London campus. However I live in a Luton and learn via online lectures. I'm looking to study at a library in the evenings or on a Sunday (mainly as I have children I need a quiet work area) and I was wondering if I was able to use Luton University library please?

All the public libraries in the area close early or aren't open on a Sunday, so thought worth a chance asking the question to see if there was a chance you could help me please?

Bedford Library opening hours

 You said:

Hi, I have some feedback about the Bedford Library and it's opening hours. I was just wondering if there were plans to extend the opening hours to be opened earlier than 830. As a 'mature' learner with children the library opening till later is great, but actually would make more sense if I could get into the library before 830am. The library seems to be the place that I am the most productive, and so I'm keen to get to the library before my lectures start to get a couple of hours worth of work in! I've spoken to a few of my peers who also think it would be beneficial if the library opened earlier. I'm aware that Luton are, or are moving to, a 24 hour service and just curious as to why this isn't an option for the Bedford campus. Many thanks

Thank you for your email. During the last academic year the library has been open on very restricted opening hours. Moving out of the pandemic it has given the University to review the opening hours offer and run a pilot year of opening to see if this fits the student needs. The review looked at pre pandemic use and arrived at this opening hours profile for Bedford in consultation with faculties & BEDSSU

Thank you for your email. Part of your journey as an undergraduate is to learning how to do your own research.

May I suggest that you contact your Academic Liaison Librarian – David Abdy

https://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/studyhub-library/what-is-study-hub/study-hub-teams/alls/david-abdy

For some advice on how to research Dame Elizabeth Anionwu.

You may find some online help in the Adult Nursing Subject Guide

https://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/health/

You could start by searching the catalogue. To help you there is a guide in the A-Z list of resources. Just type Catalogue in the search box and you with get a PDF help sheet “Searching Effectively for Information”

 I hope that helps

Printing

 You said:

Im currently in the library and am having trouble finding the correct printer on the floor I am on. I am on the 2nd floor and have tried typing in the ID number, as well as tried accessing web print but have had no luck.

If you could please advise how I can connect to the printer.

We said:

Thank you for your enquiry

There is an issue with printing across the University at this time. If you log onto a PC on level 1 of the Luton Campus library and send your printing from there you can collect your printing as normal.

There is a customer service desk on level 1 of the library and you would get a quicker response to your queries by talking to staff there.

When logging into my library account today for the first time I saw that the address that is on my library account is wrong. It states that my address is XXX. However, that was my old university address, my current and only address is YYY. Is there any way this could be changed on my account, please?
