Provide more computer science computers for student to use as 8 is not enough for more than 100 students.

We replied

The dedicated Computer Science PCs are bookable this offers good opportunities for Computer Science students to use them when they need them

Tell Us Library Survey 2019 - Personal responses Rolling Stack

You said
The rolling book stacks on the first floor (Bedford Campus Library) are essential to my studies as they contain most of the English books. They have been inaccessible on at least five occasions this academic year, including two consecutive weeks in March/April. As a mature student who is only able to access physical stock once a week (due to work and family commitments) this is wholly unacceptable.

We replied

Thank you for voicing your concerns. We agree with you. We have done everything in our power to get the Rolling Stack mended and in between times the manual retrieval via staff is the best we can offer. We are hoping that this problem has now been resolved.

I absolutely love how modern in various the library is, it is warn in the winter, the design and layout, the view from the huge windows, I was shocked when I found out about Power Nap stations - how cool is that? the choice of seats, the furniture is top, I am very happy to study in this library.

We replied

We are very proud of our libraries. So glad you took the trouble to tell us how much you appreciate the Luton Campus Library.

Luton Library - cleanliness

The computers and tables on all floors are very dirty! and it has not been cleaned in months! This is a matter of basic hygiene.

Thank you for your comments. L
ibrary customers are expected to clear up after themselves. I am sorry that you have found messy areas of the library. Care for the library's study environment is a joint effort between the library customers and the Facilities staff who maintain the cleanliness of the space via a regulated schedule. There are Code of Conduct requirements and sanctions about food in the library
https://lrweb.beds.ac.uk/libraryservices/using-the-library/Code-of-conduct

  • You can consume cold food, cold drinks and lidded hot drinks in the library. Hot food is not allowed on library floors

Bedford Library - staff

It's been so nice and really good being in the library.  The staff are so lovely, kind, always ready to help.  They need a pay rise. I made it because of them.

Congratulations on your achievements!! Delighted to be part of your academic journey

Bedford Library - study environment

The noise levels in the library way too high plus the use of language (poor) the consequences being not being able to concentrate on my studies - left the building!!!

Thank you for your feedback. Level 1 of Bedford Campus Library is primarily used for social learning and so it will be a lively floor. If you like silent working level 2 is designated silent. If you can tolerate ambient noise level 3 would be the perfect choice for you.

Luton Library - Furniture

The little triangle table with computers in the silent areas are are too small to work on. There is no space to write or put a book. Need bigger table

Thank you for your feedback. There are silent rooms on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of Luton Campus Library. As well as the triangular tables you mention there are standard tables - some with PCs - also available in some of the rooms. These tables offer space for books and additional portable devices. I would advise you to check the facilities on each of these floors to find the one that suits you the best.
