Will you please be able to tell me how many grace periods
students will get after the due date for library books have gone?and form what day will library fine apply? How much is a library fine per book per day?
Also, if there is a book that the university library (in all
campuses) does not have, will students be able to request it to be bought by
the university library, to be then available in the library itself? and if yes,
to who do they make requests to?
I hope you will help with the queries.
Many thanks for your enquiry. All the
information you need is on our web site.
Grace periods, follow this link and
click on the Fines paragraph heading
Once an item is due you get the grace
period of 7 days for a standard loan and 3 days for a 7 day loan. If you renew
an item then the grace period applies to the new due date.
Fines are applied from:
day 8 standard loans 50p per item
ay 4 7 day loans 75p per item.
Overnight loan have no grace period
and the fine is applied as soon as the book is overdue £1
The fine is per book not per day.
If a final year or post graduate
student needs a book that is not stocked in the University library they may use
the Document Supply services
If a first or second year student
says they need an item from outside the library’s collection then they need to
contact their academic liaison librarian as the library holds materials for
every course taught at the University
I hope this answers all your queries.
