Aylesbury campus library

 You said

Food vending machine

Power supply that works through all the quiet study desks

Easier sign posting on the rows of books.

For example this is where WQ is etc

 We said

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Aylesbury campus. I will pass your comments regarding food vending to our Facilities team. In the mean time may I encourage you to use the facilities available in the main hospital building.

Thank you for letting us know there’s a power supply issue with the study desks in the library I will ensure that it is investigated and resolved. Please remember that some power sources have been disabled to ensure social distancing while studying. If that is the issue it will remain in place until our COVID way of working ends.

New signage is being made up for the library shelves so please accept my apologies for the delay. Staff are on hand to help you find where the WQ books are

External membership request

 You said

In regards to my membership expiring on 24.01.21 would it be possible to renew my membership before the expiry date? Or do I need to come in to renew my membership?

If there is a chance to renew before the expiry date can I just fill in the visitor’s application form and send it to you with the fees?

We said

Thank you for your email. University of Bedfordshire is not accepting applications for membership from anyone outside the University and the Sconul Access Scheme is currently suspended due to the pandemic. Please check these web pages from 14.1.21 to see if anything changes

We said

Increase Library Opening Hours

 You said

I am a part-time student with a young family and work full-time until 5:30pm, I would like to request for the library to extend the opening times as the current times are posing a real strain on me which is affecting my grade and opportunity to study, now that assessment deadlines are getting closer it is really important for us part time students with other commitment to be able to gain the same quality service like other students. The times that the library is open is the times in which I am working. I currently use the library on the Saturday however it is not enough time for me to get much done, and the library is closed on the Sundays. I would really appreciate if this could be looked into, as this is becoming increasingly stressful and I'm sure this will help not only myself but many other students in the same situation as me.

Luton Library - ground floor PCs

Please ensure that the printer is fixed ASAP I only have an hour break so need to eat while I print off work (no food allowed on other floors) Also only 1 computer allows people to log in, please fix remaining 3. I could not print my work or sign on past 3 weeks please email me to tell me when fixed.

Thank you for raising your concerns. The printer has had its toner cartridge replenished so it is working. There has been no reports of the PCs not working on the ground floor but our IT team have checked them and they are working normally. If you log onto a PC and it seems to be taking a long time if you immediately log onto another PC the same thing will happen. You need to allow the PC to log on and if it doesn't please report it to a member of staff.
If you come into the Library to eat the ground floor is an ideal place. The alternative is to use the IT Suite in F block

Bedford Campus Library Resources

After doing the foundation degree Arts, I attended a BA induction day (08.02.20) and I popped into the library to see the wealth of resources that we could have been using (TP room) on our FDA course.

All students are encouraged to use the University's on Campus resources. Teaching Practice resources are signposted within the library, University library social media and at induction.

Bedford Teaching Practice collection

Been with UoB (Foundation degree in SEND) for 3 years. Had no idea about the resources we can borrow in the TP room. This needs to be relayed to your students.

Thank you for your kind words. Teaching Practice resources are singposted within the library, social media and at induction.
