Bedford Campus Library level 2

Please can it be made clear to ALL students (especially first and second years), that floor 2 of the library is not for meets and greats or to sit and have a conversation.

Thank you for your feedback level 2 of Bedford Campus Library is the SILENT floor. Our code of conduct states

2nd Floor - Silent Floor

2nd Floor is a Silent Study floor. Noise levels are monitored by regular staff patrols. Please observe the Silence requirement. Sanctions are in place for talking.

Self service keyboards

I would appreciate if self issue machine have standard keyboard which will have all characters to put in our passwords.

Thank you for your suggestion. The reason there is a limited keyboard on our library management system  is because the software cannot deal with all the variations on characters. This is under development and should be improved eventually but I am afraid it is not as simple as changing the keyboard it means changing the software.

Bedford Library: Rolling Stack

There ave been at least three occasions this year when the book stacks have been out of order.  preventing access to books.

The rolling stack on the first floor at Bedford is out of order. Items from the rolling stack may be reserved at the Customer Service desk on the ground floor. Items are being retrieved once a day then placed as reservations for students to collect from the ground floor. We apologise for this inconvenience while the rolling stack is being mended.
UPDATE: Rolling stack mended 27.2.19

Luton Library - litter

2nd floor computer area has not been cleaned at all today. Arrives at 9am and left at 11.30. Rubbish left on desks and on the floor... I was forced to clean up my area before studying.

Thank you for raising your concerns. Library customers are expected to clear up after themselves. I am sorry that you have found part of the 2nd floor messy. Care for the library's study environment is a joint effort between the library customers and the Facilities staff who maintain the cleanliness of the space via a regulated schedule. There are Code of Conduct requirements and sanctions about food in the library

and other food products mess all over the floor and near the computers.
Would you please look at this matter very closely.

Could our printing credit in library be accessible for paying for our academic posters?

You will be pleased to know that we can take payments from your print credits account for anything that is related to your studies. You can either use the online system https://printshop.beds.ac.uk  and select print credits as the payment method within the checkout process. We will then send the poster to the main reception in the gateway building for you to collect.

If you have any issues using the online service please call a member of the print room staff on 01582 521421 and they will assist you using the system. Please note if you have not used the system before you will need to create an account in the first instance.

The only print credits that cannot be spent are the £20.00 annual allowance that the PHD students get.
