Lockers

I and some research colleagues kindly request a space where we can keep the loads of articles and books being used. They are heavy that we cannot carry home every day. I personally used to use the ground floor lockers when they were open, but now they are locked for unknown reasons. Some of the PhD students spend most of the time at the library until a very late time. Alternatively, I would very much appreciate informing me of any other space inside the library where we can keep articles and books safe.

Your possessions need to be kept near where you are working at all times and should not be left in the University overnight. There is no space for overnight unattended storage.
Please do not use the library lockers as they are not in use at the moment. When the library was being commissioned there were problems with our locker supplier. Its taken a long time but we're hoping these issues will be resolved over the summer and the lockers should be available for use in November. Even then you should not leave possessions in them overnight.

I was wondering in what ways it was possible to pay my library late fees? As I do not live in Bedford paying in person is quite difficult so I was wondering if there might be a way to pay online or if it is possible to pay at any of the Uni of Beds campuses?

Post Graduate Document Supply

I am a masters student currently writing my dissertation.  I have searched discover, ebooks and learning resources for the following book.

Families and Poverty: Everyday life on a low income by Kelly Grace and Mary Daly (2015).

I need access to it as the study is included in my findings but cannot afford to purchase the book outright. Is there a way the university could add it to ebooks so that I could read it please?

Thank you for your enquiry. As a masters student you are able to use the University’s Document Supply service. There is all the information you need on LRWeb. I have included some of the links below. Read as much as you can and place your request (on the forms link – book request) then read some more. You may need to set up a BL on Demand account to accept any future journal article requests

Visitor membership

I an just contacting you to ask about whether the Uni of Beds library in Luton is available for non-Beds students to use? And if so, how do you go about doing so? I am a student at Cambridge University but I live in Luton.

Thank you for your enquiry. University of Bedfordshire is part of the Sconul Access scheme which allows students of member institutions to join for free. I would advise you to talk to Cambridge about the scheme but I am fairly sure its not a member so you are able to use this route.

You may apply for Visitor membership at £30 per year all the details are on our website
