Sconul Access

I’m a Luton resident and a Master student at King’s College London. I’d like to use the University of Bedfordshire library - could you please provide information on how I can gain access to it?

Thank you for your enquiry. You need to check with Kings regarding Sconul Access. Once you have your email of authorisation from Sconul Access you may apply to join the University of Bedfordshire's libraries at Luton and/or Bedford

Luton Library - temperature

The Library has been extremely cold lately. It might be that its the same temperature as before but considering that the outside temperature is now lower I don't think the AC should still be giving out as much cold

The current temperatures fall within the building management range of 19 – 23 degrees centigrade so the best advice is find another spot in the library, avoid sitting over air circulation vents ((metal grilles on the floor) and/or bring a jumper (!) This has been reported to Facilities for investigation

Alumnus Membership

I studied at UoB and gained my Exec MBA at Putteridgebury.  I might have imagined this but thought alumni could gain access to the LRC resources.

Can you confirm / help please?

Visitor Memberships

I’m currently a real estate postgraduate at the University College of Estate Management. It’s distance learning course over two years - I currently live in Luton and need a study space to get on with my work now and then and wanted to ask if you had any services/memberships for the library for visitor access? I’ve looked on the website but they don’t seem to apply as my university isn’t registered with SCONUL.

Sconul Access

I am currently studying at the university of Portsmouth but live in Luton and have came home as the year is finished, I do however still have coursework to hand in and wondering if it was possible to use your library services if I have a valid university pass for my uni? I’m not sure how it would work but I would just appreciate the space and being able to concentrate and get the books and services I need. Thankyou.

Thank you for your enquiry. University of Bedfordshire does not operate the Sconul Vacation scheme due to swipe card access required at our libraries. If you are still eligible for Sconul Access please check details with Portsmouth and follow our requirements. All the information you want is on our website

Sconul Access
