New system for checking books out of the library entails entering one's password on a large touch screen - in full view of people. I don't see how we're supposed to keep our password secret if using this system
Thank you for your comment regarding our new self issue machines.
Please can I put your mind at rest? Although the on screen "keyboard" is potentially in view of other people (same way as the print credit kiosk is and - to some extent - our previous self issue machines were) even if watching it is difficult to guess the letters/digits being typed in from finger movements. Of course the letters/digits appear as asterix on screen.
Our existing equipment which has a similar facility has not had any of these particular security issues in the past year or so that we have been using them.
